Travel information

Local transport – tram, bus and boat
There are more than 200 trams serving 13 different lines. It is a comfortable way of travelling and a pleasant way to experience the city. To cross the Göta River you can take the Älvsnabben harbour ferry or the local bus.

You need to buy a ticket before you start your journey. You can buy tickets from Västtrafik Customer Service, from Pressbyrån and 7-eleven kiosks. You can’t buy tickets directly from the driver. On the tram you can pay with your credit card in the ticket machine.

Airport
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport and Gothenburg City Airport are both close to the city centre. The airport coach takes around 20 minutes from both airports.
